When creating a secondary world fantasy story, authors obviously have to build a unique world that makes sense and has at least one culture for readers to explore and learn about. This means the creation of terms and words that are unusual, and as a fantasy reader, that’s half the fun, right? I’m not a massive fan of vocabulary or terminology lists – I don’t usually read them, however I can understand that they can help a reader to better understand the world.
I hope that the terminology of the unique elements in the world of Deviants of Giftborn were clear as you read the story, but just in case I was not successful at that (and in case you’re unsure about pronunciation of the more unusual words), this list might be helpful. You might also find it useful to read the Scholar’s Guide to the Arc or have a closer look at the Western Realm map, which are available as free downloads.
